Our services and entities’ collaborations
We are here for you
The TERCIT Group has a strong track record of addressing real-world industry challenges and testing new products. We have a proven track record in biocompatibility studies of biomolecules and biomaterials in vitro and in physicochemical characterisation of biomaterials. Furthermore, we offer our services to both private (Industries and SMEs) and public institutions (Universities and Research Centres).

Biocompatibility
In vitro testing is useful for a first screening of the biological effects of a specific biomolecule or a new biomaterial in order to reduce the use of animals and the costs related to in vivo analysis

Physicochemical characterisation
We perform the characterisation studies with several types of biomaterials such as implant surfaces (functionalised, coated, modified, etc.), hydrogels, scaffolds and porous structures and micro/nanoparticles.
Versatility and high performance
All studies comply with the guidelines established by the regulatory agencies. Protocols are designed to meet the regulatory requirements of current standards (ISO 10993: Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices). We have expertise in a vast range of biological, physical and chemical techniques:
- Cytotoxicity (LDH, MTT, cell viability)
- Cell metabolism and proliferation
- Cell morphology and adhesion profile
- Gene expression
- Immunoassays
- Functional assays (ALP, resorption pit assay, wound healing, collagen production)
- 3D in vitro models
- UV-vis spectroscopy
- Fluorescence spectroscopy/microscopy
- FTIR spectroscopy/microscopy
- HPLC
- ICP-AES
- SEM, SEM-EDX
- Particle size distribution
- Profilometry
- Micro-CT
- XPS
- Etc.
